FAQ

Why must I leave a deposit ?

A deposit shows us that you are serious about getting your tattoo or piercing. (The deposit price comes off of the cost of the tattoo or piercing.)  All deposits are refundable if at least 24 hours’ notice is given, no refunds for custom drawn artwork.

Will it hurt? / What does a tattoo feel like?

Let us answer a question with a question… What does a cherry taste like?  You can tell me sweet, sour, good, bad, but until I experience it for myself I simply don’t know.   Different locations on different people feel different.   Everyone experiences sensation differently.  Just remember once the pain fades the beauty remains.

Do you pierce/tattoo minors?

Yes, it is legal in the state of Pennsylvania with parental consent.   The state requires a parent or legal guardian be present and sign a release form as well as current identification ie: drivers license,  real i.d., state i.d. or passport of adult as well as either i.d. for minor, birth certificate and school i.d., yearbook or photo in public print such as newspaper,  etc.  If last name of adult is different than minor we require proof such as marriage license or change of name form.

Policies:

Appointments:

* All tattoo appointments require a $40 deposit which comes off of the price of the tattoo, piercings $20.   All cancelations must give 24 hours notice or more in order to be eligible for refund unless custom artwork was drawn.

*Current CDC guidelines require all patrons to wear a mask while on the premises if you have not yet received the Covid-19 vaccination. If you or someone you have been around has been recently diagnosed with Covid-19, please call or text us to reschedule.

Tips on a better experience:

*We highly recommend getting a full night’s sleep before getting tattooed or pierced as it helps the body with the trauma in which it will receive.

*Eat a full well balanced meal with lots of protein and carbs 30-60 minutes prior.   During the procedure endorphins rush… as they crash them dump into your stomach.   An empty stomach can lead to nausea, queasiness as well as fainting.

*Sober up.  Alcohol thins the blood which causes one to bleed more which inherently “pushes the ink out”.  You’re paying good money,  why fade your tattoo?  (If you’re of legal drinking age), you are perfectly able to indulge after your tattoo is completed.

*Avoid blood thinners such as aspirin.  (For reasons see above)  If you are prescribed blood thinners for heart disease,  etc, please contact your physician before booking to see if you are able to go off of medication until procedure is done or if you’re on a small enough dose that it shouldn’t be affected.

*Avoid doing drugs or smoking Marijuana before procedure as some are blood thinners.  You may also make decisions which you normally wouldn’t if you were sober.  Though no one wants to endure pain often times the sensation of a tattoo or piercing will kill your buzz.

*Please shower or bathe before your procedure.   With tattoos we as artists may be spending hours on end with you, although we understand if you’re coming straight from work but if at all possible we ask you to come clean and fresh.  If you know what area you’re getting tattooed and you tend to be hairy it’s a big help if you trim or shave said area.

*Hydrate… both skin and body.  Drink plenty of water beforehand as well as lotion your skin at least a week or 2 before getting tattooed as it will make your skin more supple and readily accept the ink.

*It helps to bring a friend or family member to your appointment as they can comfort and console you while you’re in pain.  But make sure at time of booking as some artists prefer a “one on one” experience and will not allow a guest with their client.

*Artwork:  If you are not getting an original work done please have any references or pictures ready before booking your appointment and have a rough idea, (in inches), how big you’d like your tattoo to be.  It helps our artists factor in time and give a price quote.

*If you are pregnant or nursing please book when you are not.  Though most of us are mindful of cleanliness infection is always a factor.   You wouldn’t want to pass on an infection to your child or cause complications.
